Abby Lynn Brooks

October 6, 1961 — October 17, 2024

Waukesha, Wisconsin

Abby L. Brooks, age 63, went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, October 17, 2024 with her sisters by her side. She was preceded in death the previous year by her husband of 32 years, Steven E. Brooks.

Abby was born in Milwaukee to the late Sandra Snyder (nee Kluth) and Raymond Miller. She grew up in Brookfield and at the age of twelve courageously battled a Wilms tumor. The Lord graciously granted her an additional 51 years of living cancer free before pancreatic cancer and kidney failure claimed her.

She worked in customer service for the majority of her career. Abby was hard working, tough and independent, rarely asking for help. She was also creative and picked up the hobby of painting ceramics from her grandmother, Margaret. Eventually she shifted her artistic endeavors to making jewelry, which she did until the end. She loved to bake and always provided the desserts for family gatherings, as well as gifting tins of Christmas cookies every year. Abby also had a love for animals and leaves behind her nearly 15-year-old golden retriever, who was her constant companion.

She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by her sisters, Kerry (Tom) Crowley and Stacy (Brett) Dzieminski; her nephews, Reese and Colton Crowley and cousins, Linda Mueller and David (Tammy) Mueller.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Acts 2 Church which meets inside the Wales/Genesee Lion’s Club, S42 W31400 State Road 83, Genesee Depot, WI. Parking is available at the Genesee Town Hall across the street. Dessert and coffee will be served following the service to honor her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the animal rescue of your choosing, per Abby’s request.
