After a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis, my mother, Ada Jarvis passed away peacefully on October 20, 2021 in Pewaukee, WI.
Born in August 1929 to Oral and Glades Long, in Albany, Kentucky, Ada was passionate about her education, career and family. Ada attended both Western Kentucky University and the University of Louisville. She met my father, James Hugh Jarvis in Albany, had a wonderful marriage and always described my father as the true love of her life. Their love was true and deep and continued until my father's early passing to cancer.
Ada was an accountant and enjoyed a long career with General Electric in Louisville, KY. She was a dedicated and loving mother always balancing her career, motherhood and marriage. She was active in her church and was a devout Christian. She loved entertaining and playing cards even into her senior years in Florida. She enjoyed being active including boating, fishing, skiing, golfing, traveling and in her later years walking daily. She had many friends in Kentucky and Florida and supported many clubs, donating her time to charitable organizations and church activities.
Ada was predeceased by my father and her husband James Hugh Jarvis and a later spouse and friend, Robert Morrison, her sister Kay Edmondson and brother Charlie B. Long. She leaves behind her daughter, Jill Domecki and son-in-law Bernard Domecki, Jr. her brother, Oral William Long; sisters, Pat Skidmore, Mary Doris, Clara Qualls and their families including much loved nieces and nephews and their children.
She will be buried at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky next to my father, James Hugh. Please see details located on the funeral services page.
