Lifelong resident of Pewaukee, WI. Born December 12, 1927, Born to Eternal Life October 4, 2018 at the age of 90 years.
Beloved husband of Doreen (nee Schmit) for 65 years. Loving father of Susan (Shane) Wheeler of Elcho, WI., Karin (John) Johnson of Hartland, WI., Robert (Linda) of Pewaukee, WI., Mary Jo (Armondo) Gomez of Carson, CA., and Peter (Paula) of Pewaukee, WI.
Beloved grandfather of Shane Jr. (Amy) Wheeler, Kimberly (Geoff) Kupfer, John B. Johnson, Timothy P. (Amy) Johnson, Mark R. (Taylor) Johnson, Shannon (John) Richter, Kristin Rohde, Kevin (fiancé Mallory) Rohde, Andria Rohde, Jennifer (Dean) Neblett, Angela Carter, Lisa Gomez, Amanda (fiancé Nick) Tschan, Ashley Tschan and Allie Guzzetti. Beloved great grandfather of 18.
Further survived by brother in law and sister in law, Tom and Doris Marsel, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special mention to his lifelong friends at Netties Irish Pub in Pewaukee, Jerry, Caven and many others.
Al was a union carpenter, local 344, by trade, and the Village of Pewaukee Building Inspector for 30 years.
Preceded in death by parents Martin and Mary, and siblings, Alice, Joe and Julius.
Al served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After active service, he was a member of the Army Reserve until 1963. Al was an avid hunter, gardener, Packer fan and Brewer fan.
A visitation will be held at Yonke and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 10th from 4:00 pm until time of prayer service at 7:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am, Thursday, Oct. 11th at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Dr., Hartland, WI. Visitation from 10:00 am until time of mass.
Graveside services with Military Honors, 2:00 pm, Thursday, Oct. 11th at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, 449 W. Wisconsin Ave., Pewaukee. Please meet at the cemetery.
