Barbara Ann (Flynt) Liazuk

October 12, 1945 – January 13, 2025

Barbara Ann (Flynt) Liazuk, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 13, 2025. She was born on October 12, 1945, in Savannah, GA, and graduated from Screven County High School in Sylvania, GA, in 1963.

Barbara moved to Little Rock, AR, where she earned her associate degree and, most importantly, met the love of her life and best friend, Duane Walter Liazuk. Their love story began with a deep friendship and grew into a beautiful marriage that lasted 53 years. They were married on October 21, 1967, in Waukesha, WI, where they built a life and raised their family.

Barbara had a career in the banking industry, spending many years at Waukesha State Bank before she and Duane embraced retirement at 62. They moved to Fond du Lac, WI, where they found their dream home and preceded to fill it with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Barbara had an adventurous spirit and a passion for travel. Whether exploring new places with Duane, family, friends, or even strangers who quickly became friends, she brought joy and warmth wherever she went. She was an active member of the Fond du Lac YMCA, always eager to participate in social events and even serve on the planning committee. Barbara had a natural gift for conversation and could make anyone feel welcome.

Though she loved a good time, Barbara’s greatest joys in life were her family, friends, and helping those in need. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds—whether supporting a cause she believed in, lending a helping hand, or even giving away her own coat if someone needed it more. She had a special place in her heart for children and animals and found true fulfillment in making a difference in their lives.

Barbara is survived by her children, Susan (Nelson) Dos Reis of Oconomowoc, WI, and Darren Liazuk of Fond du Lac, WI; her beloved grandsons, Jack and Alex Dos Reis; her sister, Marlene Webber; her brother, Charles (Beth) Flynt; sisters-in-law, Beckie Flynt and Brigitte Flynt; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Duane; her brothers, Richard and Joe Flynt; and her brother-in-law, Silas Webber.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM, on March 22 at Edgewood Community Church in Fond du Lac. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Schmitty’s Restaurant. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman, WI.

Barbara’s kindness, laughter, and generous heart will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who were lucky enough to know her.
