Doris May Winders

Doris passed away in her home on Saturday June 9th 2023 at the young age of 96. As the writer and literary guru of the family, we couldn’t be more thankful for spellcheck since she was the one we would all turn to for editing any high school or college paper given to her daughter and granddaughters. She was sharp and feisty until her last day. Doris always said that the secret to a long life is half a Coke, half a beer, a little KFC and a crossword puzzle every day. She is survived by her daughter Paula Vilar (Winders), son-in-law Mitch Vilar, granddaughters Dr Dana Vilar and Brittany Vilar Sanderson. Along with their spouses Mike Knowles and Ty Sanderson and last but not least her five great grandchildren Cody, Will, Piper, Ryder and Sadie. We are thankful for the time we had with her and happy to know she is reunited with her husband Dr Robert Winders after 55 years of marriage.
