Elon Lloyd Morris II, age 70, of Dousman, WI, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and daughters on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, after a brave struggle with ALS.
Born on May 31, 1952, he was the youngest of seven children of Elon Lloyd Morris and Marie Isabelle Morris of Pewaukee, WI.
As a talented keyboardist, Lloyd played in several bands throughout his life and was particularly fond of jazz. When he wasn't busy plowing snow or doing roadwork for Waukesha County, you could find him perusing the aisles of Menards, mowing his lawn, snacking on candy, or watching shows about bigfoot, aliens, and paranormal activity. After a long career of hard labor, he traded in his snowplow and tools for baby bottles and diapers as he transitioned to his rewarding new "job" as full-time grandpa. Even as his health declined, his fiery spirit, zest for life, and love for his family remained strong until the very end.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings, Jean Adele (Ernest) Schlick, Evert (Betty) Morris, Beverly (George) Goode, Walton (Patricia) Morris, Warren Morris, and Milton (Madeline) Morris. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cheryl; three daughters, Caryn (Peter) Ruesch, Kelly (Kevin) Schwartzmiller, and Kimberly Morris (Kenneth Ogorzalek); and four grandchildren, Audrey and Myles Ruesch, and Norah and Jasper Schwartzmiller. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. In addition to his love for music, his greatest joy in life was his family. Lloyd's family is forever grateful to Heartland/ProMedica for their kind and compassionate care as both he and his family coped with the devastating effects of ALS.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Yonke & Son Funeral Home: 205 Prospect Avenue, Pewaukee, WI 53072. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., followed by burial at Forest Hill Cemetery (300 School Street, Pewaukee, WI 53072).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS Association – Wisconsin Chapter (see link under Suggested Memorial Donations).
