Judith (Judy) Ann (Detrick) Schwister was born to eternal life on July 29, 2022, in Brookfield, Wisconsin at age 80. She was born on November 20, 1941, in Garrett, Indiana to the late John F. and Mary Ann (Deininger) Detrick.
After graduating from Garrett High School in 1959, Judy moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to attend Alverno College where she earned her B.S. in Education in 1963 and taught primary grades in Milwaukee area public schools until she began raising her children, with Donald John Schwister, her former husband of more than twenty-five years, on Pewaukee Lake. She was an active member of the St. Mary's Church and School communities for many years.
Later in life, she lived in Wauwatosa and Brookfield where she was an early childhood educator and loved nothing more than spending time with her adoring grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children and spouses: Ann Marie Schwister (Juan Carlos Santamarina) of Cincinnati, Ohio; Robert Schwister (Gina) of North Lake, Wisconsin; Julie Schwister (Duster Pevonka) of Arvada, Colorado; and Jill Keuler (Paul) of Shorewood, Wisconsin; along with her six grandchildren: Andrew Santamarina, Reuben and Oliver Keuler, Charles Schwister, and Devin and Shelby Pevonka.
She is also survived by her siblings: James (Mary) Detrick, Jeanne (Ram) Halady and Mary Ann Detrick; sister-in-law, Christine Detrick, and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret, and brother, John.
A visitation will be held on August 12, 2022, at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church on Highway 83 in North Lake, Wisconsin from 11 a.m. until the communion service at 1 p.m. followed by internment in the parish cemetery.
