Kirk Allen Drusch

July 11, 1954 — April 7, 2022

Kirk Allen Drusch of Waukesha, WI was born to Eternal Life on April 7, 2022 at the age of 67. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Shirley (Moore) and Fred Drusch (both deceased). He was born in Sioux City, Iowa and raised in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Kirk dedicated his professional life to his passion of hospitality over the course of the next 50 years. Kirk's journey in hospitality began when he was only 10 years of age as a dish-machine operator at the Holiday Inn Aberdeen, SD which was operated by his father. Throughout his 13 years with the Aberdeen Holiday Inn, he held almost every position within the hotel. This would give Kirk the well-rounded experience needed to navigate a life within the world of hospitality.
In 1976, Kirk became the General Manager at Aberdeen's first Discotheque, Snoopies, owned by his father. This is where he met the love of his life, Mary Jahraus and they married on June 28, 1980. Kirk continued his hospitality journey back with the Holiday Inn Corporation where he and Mary traveled to various states over the course of his early career, including Oklahoma City where they started their family in 1982. From there, they then moved to Minnesota briefly before settling their family in Waukesha, Wisconsin. In 1985, Kirk led the opening of the Embassy Suites Hotel Milwaukee West (Brookfield) where he would remain and retire many years later.
Throughout Kirk's career in Brookfield, he received numerous awards for his accomplishments. These included WI Innkeeper of the year twice, President of WI InnKeepers Association three times, one of the original founders of the Brookfield CVB, President of Brookfield Chamber of Commerce multiple times, and received national awards from the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
Kirk was not only a career man, but an amazing family man too. He was a loving husband to Mary the love of his life who passed away in September 2014. They were each other's best friends and loved nothing more than spending time together. He was an amazing father and grandfather as well. Kirk dedicated his life after retirement to his most cherished moments spending time with and spoiling his nine grandchildren who he loved dearly.
Kirk will be deeply missed by his sons Christopher (Kathryn), Matthew (Jaclyn), Brandon (Melissa), and Michael, and grandchildren Olivia, Adalyn, Maryella, Maxwell and Remington (Christopher), Liliana and Alexiana (Matthew), and Presley and Hendrix (Brandon). Kirk is further survived by relatives, friends and colleagues.

An open celebration of Kirk's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Scholarship Fund will be created on Kirk's behalf. More information and details will be announced on Tributes.com: Kirk Drusch.
