Lois Leigh Royske
May 4, 1927 – Feb. 2, 2020
Lois Leigh Royske (nee Kolander) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 2, 2020 at the age of 92. She was born May 4, 1927, the daughter of Rueben and Muriel Kolander (nee Bussian). She is survived by her sons Craig Royske and Eric (Jeanette) Royske, and her brother Russell L. Kolander (Lorena Rose). She is further survived by other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother Elvin Glenn Kolander and her sister Helen L. Kolander.
Lois was born and raised in the village of Pewaukee and graduated from Pewaukee High School in 1945. She loved the village of Pewaukee and enjoyed attending events hosted by the Pewaukee Area Historical Society of which she was also a member.
Lois worked for the Hein Werner Corporation in Waukesha for over 26 years. Lois was also the outreach meal coordinator for the Hope Center in Waukesha for about 11 years, and she also worked as a caregiver with Home Instead Senior Care about 5 years.
Lois loved and enjoyed her church family and was a member of Community Baptist Church in Silver Lake, WI. She was also actively involved in several other Waukesha organizations over the years, including the Waukesha Public Library, Maple Avenue Mennonite Church, and the Catholic Worker House.
Private burial for the family was held on February 7th, 2020 with services provided by Yonke & Son Funeral Home in Pewaukee, WI. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Rent-A-Daughter LLC of Brookfield, WI and Aurora at Home Hospice for going above and beyond in their care for Mom. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00am-1:00pm on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Faith Baptist Church, 3250 Summit Ave, Waukesha, WI 53188 followed by a memorial service at 1:00pm with a luncheon served immediately afterward.
