Marilyn Jean Leischer

January 15, 1949 — November 11, 2023

Pewaukee, Wisconsin

Marilyn Jean Leischer, age 74, of Lakewood, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2023 while surrounded by her family.

Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, Robert, her stepdaughters Michelle (John) Feierstein of Mukwonago and Tammy (Todd) Bono of Denver, CO, as well as granddaughters Gabby and Brianna Feierstein. She also leaves behind the wonderful Gaffney family, including Gail, JP, Bart, Patrick and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Edith Heider, and brother, William Heider.

Marilyn was a loving and giving person who had a deep passion for art, animals and nature. She added her own special touches to every setting, brightening each day. Her home could always be found with colorful pinwheels adorning the gardens and frog themed decorations nestled in each corner. Marilyn could often be found on the deck or pier outside of her home on Wheeler Lake, feeding the ducks and admiring the sunsets.

Marilyn retired from the Wisconsin State Golf Association after many years of service. She enjoyed riding on the motorcycle with Bob, going to casinos, as well as taking trips to Florida with her girlfriends. She had a heart as big as her smile and was always ready to help anyone in need. Marilyn spent much of her time volunteering at HAWS in Waukesha, positively impacting the lives of countless furry friends. Her never-ending kindness and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Per Marilyn’s wishes, no formal funeral will be held. In honor of her love for animals, donations can be made to the Humane Animal Welfare Society at https://hawspets.org/ways-to-give/. Marilyn wanted her ashes to be scattered around her lake house property where she loved to spend her time. May her spirit continue to bring joy to our days, and may her memory always bring a smile to our faces.

A special thanks to JP for all his help coordinating Marilyn’s care and also to the amazing 5th floor staff at Waukesha Memorial Hospital who took great care of her and her family.
