Mary Ellen Fish

Fish, Mary Ellen (nee Koebke), age 92, passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2023 surrounded by the love of her daughters. She was born in Manitowoc, WI, on August 15, 1930, to the late Genevieve (nee O'Donnell) and George Koebke. Preceded in death by her cherished husband, Ody Fish, Mary Ellen was the most beloved mother of Sarah Fish of East Providence, RI, and Margaret (Bryant Grimes) Fish of Milwaukee, WI.

Mary Ellen was a 1952 graduate of Mount Mary College. She taught second and third grade within Milwaukee Public Schools for 15 years. After marrying Ody, Mary Ellen moved to the Village of Pewaukee, where she raised her family and lived for the next 55 years. She dedicated her life to raising her two daughters; supporting her husband throughout his business and political careers; and volunteer endeavors too numerous to count. Mary Ellen loved Pewaukee, her church, her friends, and her family. She enjoyed many hobbies that kept her active: golfing; knitting; sewing; baking; walking with her friends and dogs; gardening; reading; playing games of all kinds; watching the Packers, talent competitions, & game shows; and leaving her daughters countless adorable voice messages. As her health declined, Mary Ellen moved to St. Rita Square in Milwaukee to be closer to her daughter. She was the most loving mother we could have ever asked for, and we will miss her beyond belief. We will always think of our mom when we drink iced mochas, play dominos, see a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and hear the birds.

Mass of Christian Burial 4:30 PM, Tuesday, July 18th at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, N35W23360 Capitol Dr., Pewaukee. Visitation 3:00 PM until time of Mass. Private interment.
