Paul Joseph Barnes

Paul Joseph Barnes of Germantown, Wisconsin, went home to be with Jesus on August 21, 2024 at the age of 58 years, after a lifelong battle with Type 1 diabetes, leading to an array of health issues and a massive stroke.

Paul was born on July 13, 1966, in West Allis, Wisconsin, to the late Robert Andrew and Donna Marie Barnes. Paul and his family have strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and know that he is finally at peace in Heaven. Paul is survived by his wife of 28 years Christine Marie Barnes (Trinastic), and his two daughters, Megan Marie Vergara Barnes (Matias Jose Vergara) and Mikayla Nicole Tonn (Nicholas William Tonn). Paul is also survived by all of his siblings, Robert, Cheryl, Timothy, Richard, Joan, Kathleen, Rachel and many nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, uncle, friend, son-in-law, brother-in-law, and father-in-law and loved his family more than life itself with a heart 10x the size of most.

Paul was an extremely hardworking man who always provided for his family. He was a genuine, loving person who would give a stranger the shirt off his back. Paul loved sharing food to create memories by cooking, baking, finding new recipes to try, and treating his family to many meals at their favorite restaurants. He also loved to golf and watch football whenever he could. He was extremely dedicated to taking his daughters to all their soccer and volleyball practices and games through the years. Paul loved cutting the grass on his tractor, going to the movies (and eating fifteen buckets of popcorn), and of course ……bacon. He had a funny nickname for his dog, Koda, which was Beannie Boppo, which always made us smile! Another thing that Paul loved was to take his family to the “Barnes Family Cabin” near Dutch Hollow Lake in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, to create family memories and make summers a blast. Above all, Paul knew that his true identity was in Christ and that he was fearfully and wonderfully made. This truth was evident in one of the last text messages he wrote to his daughter Mikayla which reads, “Keep up the good work. It’s all going to work out…it always does.”

Visitation will take place from 3-5pm at the New Vision Church (World Impact Ministries) in Pewaukee, Wisconsin located at N14W27995 Silvernail Rd, Waukesha, WI 53072, United States. His homecoming service will be from 5-6pm also at the New Vision Church (World Impact Ministries).
