Richard L. Schehr, 43, of Hartford, Wisconsin, passed away far too soon, on December 26, 2023. Rich grew up in and around Madison, Wisconsin. He graduated from DeForest High School in 1998 and earned his business degree with honors from University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, in 2002. Rich had early success in his career and had worked as a vice president in fleet management for more than seven years. He was the ultimate businessman and had a gift for “closing the deal.”
Rich was a funny guy. He was the self-proclaimed comedian in the family and took great pride in making people laugh. Rich laughed at all of his jokes, and the rest of us laughed at almost all of them. The only thing Rich loved more than trying to make people laugh was being a dad. He doted on his sons, Brycen and Roy, and always looked forward to spending time with them and taking them hunting and fishing, like his dad had done with him.
Rich would be the first to tell you he was not perfect. In fact, he had a much more crass term to describe himself, which probably can’t be published. He was less inclined to admit that he was kind, loving, and had a huge heart. But he absolutely did. He was surrounded by people who saw him for who he really was and loved him for it.
Rich was preceded in death by his father, Roy Schehr, his step-mother, Sandi Schehr, and two uncles, Mike Schehr, and Billy Murray, as well as all of his grandparents. Rich is survived by his beloved sons, Brycen and Roy Schehr, his mother, Bobbi Murray Larson and step-father, Bob Larson, his twin brother, Kyle (Jen) Schehr, his older sister, Amanda (Tom) Breed, his love, Amy Jung, his step-brothers, Romie Larson, Bennie Larson, and Jason Howland, his nieces and nephews, and many other loved ones. A celebration of Rich’s life will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, January 26, at Olbrich Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin.
