Richard Schoen
b. November 5, 1942
Richard "Dick" Matthew Schoen of Hartland Wisconsin, passed peacefully at the age of 78 on April 17th 2021 surrounded by his family. Dick, a loving husband and father, was born to Alta and Hayden Schoen on November 5th 1942. Dick was the oldest of four boys, and is survived by his brothers, David (Mandira) Charles (Mary Jane) and Hayden (Judy) Schoen.
On November 20, 1981 he married Marilyn (Forler) Singleton and together with his son, Rick (Tracy) and Marilyn's daughters, Tammy (Jim) Crivello, Kimberly (Chris) Hansen, Valerie (Thomas) Konicek and Camille (Paul) Unger they built a family and a lifetime of beautiful memories, which included the addition of eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Dick served in the Air Force and upon returning home, began his career in water technology and joined Aqua Chem, where he spent over 35 years dedicated to the engineering of water purification. Dick continued his career at Aquatech and became part of a team of inventors that currently hold 10 US Patents that further the important work of bringing fresh water to all corners of the world. Dick finished his career learning the science of Chemistry and was most proud of the lab he helped to build at Aqua Tech. Dick retired at the age of 75, but never lost his quest for learning, you would often find him at home reading technical manuals, writing software programs, reading the latest science fiction book, or authoring his own novel. While Dick's first love may have been science, he was also well known for his love of animals, he and Marilyn raised several pets and often took in strays.
Dick was welcomed into the loving arms of his Mother Alta and Father Hayden, Son in law, Paul Unger and the many, many animals he loved throughout his life.
